Terms and conditions

These terms cover downloading, trying and buying ClickClock. We've kept them as short and plain as we could.

Last updated 22 October 2026

Who you're dealing with

ClickClock is made by Peleg Shinar, based in Madrid, Spain. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean Peleg Shinar, and "you" means the person using ClickClock.

By downloading, installing or using ClickClock, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

The free trial

You can use every feature of ClickClock free for 3 days, with no account and no card. When the trial ends, timers that are already running still ring, but you'll need a licence key to start new ones.

Please don't reset, extend or work around the trial.

Buying a licence

A licence is a one-time purchase. The price is shown on our pricing page and depends on your region. It includes any VAT or sales tax that applies.

Purchases are handled by Polar Software, Inc. ("Polar"), which acts as our merchant of record and reseller. Polar takes the payment, charges the right tax and sends your receipt and invoice. Polar's buyer terms cover the payment itself, and these terms cover your use of ClickClock.

After you pay, you'll get your licence key by email. Keep that email somewhere safe, or use the customer portal to find your key again.

What your licence lets you do

Your licence gives you a personal, non-exclusive right to use ClickClock on up to 2 Macs that you own or control at the same time. You can use it for personal or work purposes. If you get a new Mac, you can free up a spot in the customer portal or in the app's settings and move your licence over.

You agree not to:

  • share, sell, publish or give away your licence key,
  • use one licence on more than 2 Macs at the same time,
  • get around the trial or the licence check,
  • copy, modify, decompile or reverse engineer the app, except where the law gives you a right to,
  • resell or redistribute the app.

ClickClock, its design, sounds and name belong to us. Buying a licence gives you the right to use the app and doesn't transfer any of that ownership.

Licence checks

When you enter your key, the app activates it with Polar, and then checks it about once a month. If you're offline, ClickClock keeps working.

We may deactivate a licence key if the payment is refunded or charged back, if the purchase was fraudulent, or if the key is shared or used in breach of these terms. If we do, we'll tell you why when we can.

Refunds

Because you can try every feature free for 3 days before you buy, all sales are final and we don't offer refunds for change of mind.

If you're a consumer in the European Union or the UK, you can still withdraw from your purchase within 14 days of buying it. Just email hello@getclickclock.com with the email address you used at checkout, and we'll refund you in full through Polar. Your licence key is deactivated once the refund goes through.

If ClickClock doesn't work as described, your legal guarantee below applies wherever you live. Polar may also issue a refund at its own discretion under its buyer terms, and a refunded or charged-back purchase deactivates the licence key.

Updates

Every future update of ClickClock is included in your licence at no extra cost. The app finds updates through Sparkle and installs them when you agree. You can switch off automatic checks in Settings.

We'll provide the updates needed to keep ClickClock working as described, including security fixes, for as long as the law requires. Beyond that, new features come when they're ready, and we can't promise the app will keep running on every future version of macOS. ClickClock needs macOS 14 Sonoma or later.

Permissions

The right-click shortcut needs macOS Accessibility access. If you don't grant it, the rest of the app still works and you can open the timer with the keyboard shortcut or the menu bar. Our privacy policy explains what the permission is used for.

Please don't rely on it for anything critical

ClickClock is a productivity timer. It can't ring while your Mac is asleep, shut down or muted, and like any software it can have bugs. Please don't use it for anything where a missed alarm could hurt someone or cause serious loss, such as medication, medical care, safety or cooking that needs close watching.

Your legal guarantee

If you're a consumer, the law gives you a guarantee that ClickClock matches its description and works as it should. In the EU, this covers any fault that shows up within 2 years of your purchase. If something's wrong, email us and we'll fix it, or, if we can't, give you a partial or full refund. Nothing in these terms takes away any of these rights.

Liability

If you're a consumer, we're responsible for loss or damage you suffer that's a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care, as the law of your country provides. We aren't responsible for loss that wasn't foreseeable when you bought the licence.

If you use ClickClock for business, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for your licence, and we aren't liable for lost profits, lost data or other indirect losses.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability where the law doesn't allow it, such as for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

Ending these terms

You can stop using ClickClock whenever you like by deleting it. If you seriously break these terms, for example by sharing your licence key, we may deactivate your licence. The parts of these terms about ownership and liability continue after that.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when we add features or the law changes. We'll post the new version here with a new date. Changes won't take away anything you've already paid for, such as your 2-Mac licence or free updates.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you're a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in, and you can bring a claim in the courts there or in Spain.

If something goes wrong, please email us first at hello@getclickclock.com. Most things can be sorted out quickly that way.
